Through the middle of the oldest park in Dresden

The 3-mile Dresden Park Railroad runs through the 500-acre Great Garden, the oldest and biggest park in the capital of Saxony, going back to Baroque times.

The miniature railroad, whose favorite comrade-in-arms is its mascot, the squirrel ‘Parkolino’, passes such sights as the Palace, the oldest Baroque building in Dresden, the gondola pond ‘Lake Carola’, splendid flower-beds, ancient trees and the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen.
