Not a day goes by without tourists and locals hearing the loud puffing and the happy whistling of the narrow-gauge trains of Saxony. Eight of them are still in service today and doing their laps in many parts of the state, thanks to the commitment of numerous railroad fans who tirelessly work to preserve the 100-year-old railroads. In addition to the trains that run every day, there are also museum trains operated by clubs and staffed by volunteers. Many tourists will have heard of the Radebeul Traditional Railroad near Dresden, and the Pressnitz Valley Railroad in the Ore Mountains. But the Museum Railroad of Schönheide, also in the Ore Mountains and the Forestry Railroad in Bad Muskau, Upper Lusatia, are also two museum railroads that should not be missed, for they have a flair of their own. Welcome on board of the museum trains!
